24 hour Mountain Bike Race for Audreys Wish 2011

TEX Racing, along with a number of individual and corporate sponsors, are again supporting the Audreys Wish Team and competing in the 2011 Scott 24Hour Mountain Bike Race on October 8th and 9th in Canberra. With over 2500 riders this year, 2011 will see a return to the popular "hourglass" course design which provides much more course variation, while requiring each rider to ride for about 16 Km before they can transition to another team member. Last year we completed 18 laps of the 19klm track, a total of 342 Kilometres. This year our mission is to rack up even more laps and kilometres.

We will be raising funds for Audrey's wish by completing as many laps as possible. Manly resident, Audrey Myrden, has recently been diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme – a terminal brain tumour and is now undergoing aggressive radiation and chemotherapy for the ultimate battle of her life. Audrey’s greatest wish is to ensure her boys are well provided for so that her husband Barry can continue to work and have resources to assist him with their care. A previous survivor of breast cancer, Audrey was ineligible for life insurance. A Current Affair  aired a story last year to explain their daily struggle.

Audrey's husband Barry is on the Audreys Wish team and will be helping to keep everyone focussed. We are all extremely motivated by Audrey's determination and know that her strength will help us all to grind out plenty of laps in the 24. If you would like to sponsor our team, please don't worry about completing the form below, instead  click here and complete the form and let us know how much per lap or per kilometre you would like to pledge. We thank you on behalf of Audrey and her family for your support.
